PARENTS, is 9th grade too young to have a boyfriend?

I'll be a ninth grader in the fall and high school is quite the something to anticipate ha ha. I really want to be the best that I can be in school, and put myself over others for once. I know that high school is a huge step and that people change and I have to get ready for that. But I'm kind of curious as to the whole boyfriend situation. Do you think that if I like a guy and he asks me out I should just fall into it and go ahead and date him? I mean, of course I'll be responsible. I'm NOT interested in the whole sex and drugs. But if a boyfriend will distract, and pretty much waste my time when I should be focused on studying, maybe I shouldn't have one. Gah! I don't know. Do you think 9th grade is too young to start to date? I'll take your word for it. Thanks parents.
